Phia Recap 2023
Phia Recap 2023
2023 was an amazing year, I got to meet so many new Dreamers and play so many new games!
I'm looking forward to spending another year with you all, but first, let's go over what happened this year!
In 2023, I went from streaming 3 times a week to 5 times a week! I streamed almost 200 times this year, for a total of nearly 500 hours!!
On Twitch you guys watched almost 5000 hours, and on YouTube you watched around 2600 hours!
You also sent over 52000 chat messages and used around ONE MILLION channel points!
The emotes you used most were:
Lots of new Dreamers joined us this year as well: 782 new followers on Twitch, and 805 new subscribers on YouTube!
On top of this, you guys gave me a truly unbelievable amount of support this year, with 425 subscriptions (284 being gift subs!) and almost 10000 bits on Twitch!
There was a bit of extra interactivity with some of my streams this year thanks to Crowd Control!
You redeemed over 3000 coins, and activated over 530 effects!
Sometimes you helped, sometimes you hindered... but it was always fun!
Speaking of interactivity... We had a lot of fun with Sound Alerts as well!
You played over 1200 alerts, putting us in the top 4% of Sound Alerts users!
The most played alert was Metal Pipe, with almost 200 plays!
Second place was Domino's App Featuring Hatsune Miku with just over 100 plays, which is probably the reason the total length of alerts played was over 5 hours!
This year, I was in the top 10% of streamers for Terraria, Subnautica, and Rain World!
A nice mix of fun and suffering!
Here are the games I finished in 2023! (click for my thoughts!)
- Dust: An Elysian Tail
Techinally my second playthrough, although with how little I remembered it was like the first time all over again!
It was a lot of fun zooming around the screen slashing enemies. I remember getting lost a lot in the Spooky Zone, especially when I went back to find secrets.
A sequel game would be awesome, but I doubt it'll ever happen since the story wrapped up so nicely.
- Return.
The first game I made a recorded video for!
A short and sweet (and slightly difficult) platformer, with a somewhat surprising ending!
- Suspicious Downpour
The second game I made a recorded video for!
It was a little spooky, I loved the twist ending and the "throw sandwich" button!
- Among The Sleep
Ah, Tuddy, my haunted murder bear...
I wasn't sure what this game would be like going in, but it was definitely one of my favorites!
I was really surprised at the ending, and how everything that happens throughout the game suddenly makes sense.
- Ib
Ib! Good old Ib!
I had already played the original version, but the remake had lots of fun surprises! (and frustrating puzzles)
I had fun unlocking all the illustrations!
- Katamari Damacy REROLL
NA NA~ NANANA NANA NA NA NA KATAMARI DAMACY~
One of the best game soundtracks, definitely! I may not be a Katamari Pro, but rolling up helpless citizens was a lot of fun!
I'd like to play another Katamari game in the future... (with a controller instead of a keyboard this time!)
- lure
The third (and as of now last) game I made a recorded video for!
Short but sweet, the jumpscare got me good!
- Everhood
Another game with an amazing soundtrack and a cast of goofy and colorful characters!
Watching the story unfold and realizing you HAVE to make tough choices... That's what Everhood is about!
...Well, that and gnomes!
There were some really tough battles in this one (Final Kermit and Evil Wizard come to mind), luckily the soundtrack was good enough that you could listen to the same song for an hour without going crazy!
- A Rose in the Twilight
Truly a Big Brain game!
Much like htoL#NiQ, there were some interesting puzzle mechanics, like Blood, Bloodering Can, Bugs, Pick Up, Throw, Blood Sacrifice...
Definitely a fun one!
- Rain World
Rain World... I loved this game, but MAN it was easy to get lost (and easy to get eaten)!!
The map wasn't much use to me since it was layered (I never did figure out exactly how that worked...)
The visuals though? BEAUTIFUL. (especially the water, despite how scary it was...) Rain World is the kind of game you get lost in, in more ways than one!
- FAITH
- Terraria
Much more than "2D Minecraft", although they do have one thing in common: Really Good Soundtracks!! (especially the underground desert music..!)
Terraria took me quite a while to get through, with all the rare item drops, fishing quests, and difficult boss fights! Luckily you guys (usually) made things a bit easier with Crowd Control!
There were some pretty fun moments, like when we fought the Wall of Flesh and killed it right before the bridge I built ended! There were also some frustrating/silly type moments, like when I realized, after searching for hours, that my world was created before Shimmer was added to the game and therefore had none generated..!
I think the most Hype moment of all though was the Moon Lord fight! Before this playthrough, I had never gotten to the newer space alien events, so I had no idea what would happen... and we beat him first try!! (then the end credits bugged out so we ended up fighting him again!)
I'd like to do a modded playthrough some time!
- Sinking Iron & Late Night Mop
Putting these together since I played them together!
I was surprisingly good at Sinking Iron! It was a fun and spooky little game, and the secret ending was cool! (although my favorite part was the kitty!)
Late Night Mop was fun as well, especially the cheats! The cheat that put trash cans everywhere was hilarious! I enjoyed getting the different endings!
- ZeroRanger
The game that had my Touhou Player card revoked..!
ZeroRanger definitely pulls no punches, it's hard! I had fun playing it though, especially once I unlocked my lightning ability!
That last boss still haunts me...
- The Legend of Dark Witch 2
The beginning of the Dog's Curse...
Luckily I managed to shake the curse off eventually, but for so long I was plagued by falling into pits!
Dark Witch 2 was fun and cute, although it was also pretty difficult at times!
- Squirrel Stapler
Probably the most realistic Squirrel Hunting/Stapling game on the market!!
I enjoyed finding the little notes! I less-than-enjoyed the ghost squirrels!
The ending was very surprising as well! I want to play the standalone version sometime!
- Undertale
It's Undertale! You know, Undertale?
Not my first playthrough, but I still had fun! I enjoyed doing the different character voices! (some more than others..!)
- Psychonauts
Those Nauts really were Psycho...
A very wacky, VERY early 2000s game! Lots of collectables (that I pretty quickly gave up on), and really cool level design!
I especially enjoyed the lungfish city, and I especially UNenjoyed the wretched flesh circus!!
I want to play the second game sometime!
- Half-Life
- Amnesia: The Bunker
I'll admit, when I started Amnesia Bunker I wasn't sure whether I'd like or be good at it... Well, at the very least I liked it!!
It was fun running (sneaking) around collecting supplies (VERY fun once I had infinite fuel), and the atmosphere was amazing!
The ending was surprising as well, although I'm sure it's not difficult to see coming if you pay attention to the notes!
- Dark Witch Episode: Rudymical
Like Dark Witch, but a rhythm game!
The mechanic of this one was difficult to master, but I had a good time playing through (most of) the levels! (Pelusa's level... augh)
We unlocked most of the outfits as well!
- Iron Lung
Actually really fun!! I would play a game that just involves the submarine driving mechanics!
The lore was fun to dig through, and of course, the spooky stuff was very good! When I started hearing things outside the sub...
The ending was definitely a "surprise" as well!
- The Radio Station
Another hit from Chilla's Art!
The Radio Station was a fun mystery-solving driving simulator! (I am Very Good at driving and can be trusted to operate a vehicle...)
There were some fun jumpscares, and I really enjoyed the ending! My favorite part was reading the cursed poem out loud..!
- Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion HD
I've played through the original, but this was my first time with the HD version!
I attempted to speedrun the whole game, while you guys made things a little more interesting with Crowd Control!
Despite getting softlocked a few times, I managed to finish the game with barely any deaths!
- Subnautica
Subnautica, the scariest non-horror game I've ever played!!
Over a year after I started my playthrough, we finally made it off the wretched ocean planet! (with the help of some cheating)
My Subnautica journey started as a joke: I was close to reaching Twitch Affiliate and said that if I reached the goal within a VERY short span of time (one or two streams I believe), I would play it.
Alas, in my hubris, I underestimated my Dreamers... AND THE REST WAS HISTORY!!
Or, at least, it's history NOW... For a bit over a year it was the horrible, terrifying present!
Most of the fun came from having Crowd Control active, letting you guys do things like fill my oxygen bar, give me random items, spawn leviathans, or teleport me to a random place! (some of these were more fun than others..!)
We even ended up messing up the Subnautica ecosystem for a while, with some nasty critters taking up residence in should-be safe areas!
Maybe one day I'll consider playing Subnautica: Below Zero... or maybe not!!
- Yomawari: Night Alone
A fun, cute, slightly messed-up and spooky game!
Despite getting stuck a few times, and running around aimlessly a bit, I had a lot of fun with this one!
I'd like to play the next game sometime!
- I'm On Observation Duty
- Sorrow Asylum & Sorrow Asylum 2
These are the games I played for Paranoia Festival! Thank you to developer Vidas Games for the keys! (I was also given a key for Peekaboo Collection, but I haven't finished that one yet!)
Sorrow Asylum 1&2 were fun games! I enjoyed collecting all the calendar days, and watching the level change slightly each time!
I may have gotten a little silly with it, having sleepover parties with the spooky girl and questioning the medical degree of the doctor, but overall I had a great time playing these two!
- SOMA
Played over 3 days for Gamers Outreach's Spooktacular Streamathon!
A very cool game!! Very philosophical, although due to my Goofing, I was immune to it..!
Despite being an underwater horror game, there weren't too many parts that were difficult for me! Although there were definitely some pretty spooky parts... (the screaming guy... the anglerfish... the worm...)
- WORLD OF HORROR
- Titanfall 2
In a shocking twist, giant mechs with guns are fun!!
It took me a bit to figure out, but the parkour in this game was really cool! I liked jumping and sliding around!
The ending was a bit sad, but overall I really enjoyed the game! (especially since I hadn't played many FPS games before!)
- A Plague Tale: Innocence
A very beautiful game, even with potato graphic settings!!
I ended up choosing the path of violence, killing guys I could have snuck around (hitting them with rocks is easier!)
I have to play the second game eventually!
- DUSK
One of the most fun shooty games I've played!
I loved all the silly tricks you could do, like spinning your weapon or doing a backflip!
My favorite part, of course, was the SOAP!! Nothing like oneshotting a boss by flinging a bar of soap at it!!
Speaking of bosses... the final boss was a bit of a surprise! I definitely didn't see it coming!
...Much like I didn't see the water level coming..!
We did a lot this year, let's go over some of the special events!
We did 5 karaoke streams, and I sang 125 songs! The most common songs I sang were Clattanoia and Matryoshka, which I sang 3 times each!
I participated in 3 collabs this year, with the most common game being Phasmophobia!
On my birthday this year we did corridor karaoke, and Crog was born!
For my anniversary this year we watched scary videos, did karaoke, and I released my first song cover!
I was given the opportunity to participate in a couple events this year:
Paranoia Festival was a VTuber indie horror game event where I got to play a few games by developer Vidas Games!
I was also invited to Gamers Outreach's Spooktacular Streamathon, where we raised $751 for charity!
During this time we unlocked some fun donation goals, including a Discord movie night, Nightmare Mode, a 6+ hour endurance stream, my Little Creature model, and a cat reveal!
We did more than just games and karaoke this year:
We had a scary video watching stream, a creepypasta reading stream, we started monthly art streams, and I did my first handcam stream!
We were pretty busy this year, huh?
I had so much fun with you all in 2023, and it's incredible to see where I am now compared to last year!
Thank you all so much for joining me in this crazy, silly, amazing journey!! I'm looking forward to spending another year laughing with everyone!!
One more thing...
I've got so much planned for 2024, I'd like to take a small moment to share some of it!!
Sometime next year, I'll be debuting my 3.0 model! I've been wanting to make a new model for a while, so I'm very excited!
I also plan on releasing at least 4 new song covers, one for each season!
...And for those of you who wish you could carry me around in your pocket, I'm going to try and open a merch store! I'll have Phia merch and fanart merch!
